Rhianna Quanstrom, contributing blog writer, has been with Nest Box Live since 2023. As an avid bird watcher and nature enthusiast, Rhianna has several years of first-hand experience observing and identifying birds.

She concentrates her knowledge and research skills by contributing bird guides, backyard feeder tips, articles about nesting behaviors, and more to our blog. Her areas of expertise include research and field study, bird identification, bird call recognition, and migration and nesting patterns.

Her love for the outdoors began at an early age. She spent most of her time outside, fascinated by the natural world. Birds were especially intriguing to her, and throughout the years, she turned her fascination into direct knowledge and experience.

That experience came from hiking through various ecosystems across the United States with her binoculars, field guides, and wildlife photographer husband. Rhianna has lived in Colorado and Oregon and currently calls Michigan home.

She loves to travel, explore new areas, and witness new bird and animal species. Because of her travels and varying home locations, she has extensive experience observing birds in diverse areas.

As a seasoned bird watcher, Rhianna loves to hike through the forest near her home and can identify most resident birds by call alone. She keeps a stocked bird feeder so she can observe birds daily from her window.

She especially loves to pay attention to their unique habits and migration patterns. Rhianna has observed and properly identified over 130 birds across the United States. She can’t wait to add to that list in the years to come.
